International business is an integral part of today’s interconnected global economy and, starting in Fall 2025, Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ is supplementing its established international business major with the addition of an international business minor.

The international business minor, which is offered through the Offutt School of Business, is perfect for any language or global studies majors who show an interest in international trade, cross-cultural interactions, and economic, political, and legal frameworks that influence international business practices.

This minor also could benefit students in communication, business, finance, supply chain management, or accounting. The minor will engage students through a unique cross-disciplinary approach with a blend of coursework from the world languages and cultures department and various liberal arts disciplines. Students will participate in coursework that focuses on international business and foreign language fundamentals, along with an immersive international experience.

“This minor prepares students to effectively address cross-border business challenges while honing their critical thinking and global problem-solving abilities,” said Dr. Odile Streed, director of the international business program and professor of marketing.

Students who major in international business can choose from a variety of concentrations such as marketing, finance/economics, management, and regional studies of either Europe, Asia, or Latin America. Majors can also expand their world language skills with a minor in Chinese, French, German, or Spanish.
